Justin Burdette
Guitar Instructor

Justin grew up watching his family of musicians perform in concerts.  His dad inspired his love for the guitar, and he considers his grandfather John Levy Reynolds his musical hero. His grandfather's performance of the Irish folk song Danny Boy at the Grand Ole Opry is a true testament to the musical heritage of his family; his legacy as a professional country singer and comedian left a lasting impression on Justin.
Catherine Mcmanus
Vocal Instructor
Catherine holds both a Master’s degree in Music from the University of North Texas, and a Bachelor of Music from Southeastern Louisiana University,. she is certified to teach K-12 Vocal Music and Talented Music as well.

Catherine started piano at five with lessons from her grandmother. Her father was also a musician. Music has always been a natural part of life. Making music and teaching music is life for Catherine. Her musical journey started with the piano at five next to her grandmother and continues today along side her students.

Ashley Ivy
Musikgarten/Little Mozarts Instructor
Ashely's love of music began when she was a child. Her dream of playing the piano began to become reality in middle school with lessons from a private instructor. After trying out nursing and teaching, college taught her that music was her passion. Overcoming paralysis at the age of 20 and giving birth to 3 beautiful boys, she finally was able to get certified in Musikgarten. She combines over 15 years of experience with children of all ages as a pre-k teacher, co-youth pastor, and mom with her love of music to create a fun music education class. She began teaching at Overtones Music Studio in 2014. She teaches beginning piano to ages 4-6 and music training to ages 18 months to 3 years old. Her love of music is such that she feels as though she gets paid to “play,” and would not want it any other way!
Catherine enjoys all types of music from Classical to Jazz.  She is part of a musical group  named HeartVoice Trio. The group’s signature sultry Southern sound is driven by tight harmonies steeped in Delta blues, jazz and gospel.
Pam's love of music began even before she started school & her greatest wish was for a piano. After taking lessons & gaining experience as assistant pianist in her hometown church from Jr. High until high school graduation, she obtained a music education degree from LSU. Her teaching experience includes over 25 years of choral conducting & classroom music in East Baton Rouge Parish & Orleans Public Schools, adjunct music education instructor at UNO, Children's Choir Coordinator at First Baptist Church of New Orleans, adult choir & ensemble director at FBCNO. During her tenure in Orleans schools, Pam served on the music textbook adoption committee & correlated the music curriculum with the regular elementary classroom curriculum. One of Pam's greatest passions is bringing music alive in the classroom, not as a separate entity, but as an integral part in developing the whole child with music permeating all aspects of a child's learning & development. In 1989, Pam became a charter member & later director of a female Christian ensemble called Tapestry, comprised of performing & teaching musicians from both New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary & First Baptist Church of New Orleans. The group members performed together for 10 years & continue to reunite & perform annually even though members are now spread out across the US.

After moving back to the Baton Rouge area & beginning a new chapter in her life, Pam began taking a few private piano students in her home. She was then blessed with the opportunity of founding Overtones Music Studio in January of 2011. What began as seven or eight in-home students has grown to many times that number enrolled in all our programs. Pam feels so blessed to have been given a career that began as a passion in early childhood & strives to instill that same love of & passion for music in all students who pass through our doors.
Karen Arledge
Piano and Violin instructor
Karen started piano at just 6 years of age, and by 16 she was actively involved in Walker High's Band of Legacy.  She has used her talents as a drum major.

Karen has many talents, having played the flute, piccolo, violin and guitar! Karen plays piano for Corbin Methodist Church in Walker.

Karen enjoys the music of  Sara Bareilles, Lindsey Stirling, and Debussy.    Her life has been set to the soundtrack of music as long as she can remember. She had one of her first public performances at age 9.  But if there was ever anyone who inspired her to be a musician, however, it was a guitarist she met in New Orleans. "I wanted very badly to sing with him, so I marched up to him and asked him if he'd mind if I sang a song with him. That was the day I got to be a street musician and the day I knew that I wanted to do this for the rest of my life."  There are ways of saying things through music that you can't say with words, and Karen enjoys watching her students grow in music and learn to speak this beautiful "language".

Kariina’s musical adventure is an amazing journey across the U.S. in many different exciting positions. She began her Odyssey through music in her home state of Michigan at Negaunee High School. She has served as a director of music for Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming, Michigan, a “Music Maker” with Catherine Lakanen, a private music instructor, and a public school teacher!
In the early 90’s Kariina began working for the Statesboro-Georgia Southern Symphony Guild as a string instructor and later as a librarian. In the summer of 94’ Kariina and her husband David moved to Tucson where she worked for a private music studio, growing the business to over 60 students. She also played Cello in the Southern Arizona Symphony Orchestra and the Catalina Chamber Orchestra. She also played cello and violin in the Foothills Philharmonic!
Kariina and her family moved to the Baton Rouge Area in late 2000 and hasn’t skipped a beat! She is the senior string instructor at Overtones Music Studio
